TRUST + PRIVACY
Trust is foundational to how Ocicat operates.
I want every client to feel confident that their information, their project, and their financial commitments are handled with the highest level of care. Ocicat promises professional, discreet, and transparent service.
1. Data Protection
Ocicat Limited and Squarespace (our website service provider) handle all collected personal data in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act.
Your information will only ever be used for the purposes you have agreed to. Never for irrelevant marketing lists, third-party sales, or unrelated activity.
Project details are not shared beyond the Ocicat team member directly supporting you.
2. Transparency in Pricing
Ocicat is committed to clear, accurate, and upfront pricing.
Any extras or options highlighted are genuine requirements to deliver the work safely and correctly, never an attempt at unnecessary upselling.
Whether you source these ancillaries from Ocicat or another provider is entirely your choice. My advice is impartial and based solely on what the task demands.
3. Discretion and Confidentiality
Your project is yours. I do not disclose details to competitors or third parties without your consent.
Ocicat will never “dual-bid” (submitting proposals for both your scheme and a competing one). I believe in honesty, fairness, and loyalty to each client.
Even at early enquiry stage, all discussions are treated as confidential, whether or not they progress to a contract.
4. Professional Integrity
My recommendations are guided by real-world experience – aiming to provide safety, compliance, and efficiency. I do not cut corners or compromise standards.
Independence matters. My advice is totally impartial, even if it means less revenue for me.
Every proposal or plan is based on professional judgement, industry best practice, and your best interests.
5. Conflicts of Interest
Ocicat will always disclose any potential conflicts immediately.
Where I recommend providers or subcontractors, this is done transparently, without hidden mark-ups.
You are always free to use your own trusted suppliers. My role is to support, not to override.
6. Client Control
You remain in control of all key decisions. I am here to provide expert input and clear options.
I respect your existing supplier relationships and will gladly work alongside them if requested.
I will never apply pressure to steer you toward a choice that isn’t right for you.
7. Accuracy and Accountability
My plans, assessments, and recommendations are based on the best available data and experience.
If errors arise, I will acknowledge them openly and correct them promptly.
I maintain a clear record of changes, decisions, and costs.
8. Environmental and Social Responsibility
I recognise my responsibility to operate with awareness of environmental and social impact.
Where possible, I will recommend methods, equipment, or practices that reduce waste, minimise environmental footprint, and promote responsible use of resources.
I am committed to safe and fair practices that respect the variety of communities I work in and the wonderful people I work alongside.
9. Continuous Improvement
I welcome feedback and encourage clients to raise any concerns about transparency, fairness, or privacy.
My processes and commitments are regularly reviewed to ensure they remain robust, practical, and in line with evolving best practices.
10. Artificial intelligence
AI can be useful for simple, low-risk tasks like data processing, checking tone, or even natural translation.
However, AI can make mistakes, and cannot be held accountable if these mistakes mean that something goes wrong. That’s why it’s not used for safety-critical calculations or any of my HSQE documentation.
Safety-critical work will always be done by a human, with the experience, instinct, and judgement it demands.
I’ll never share your personal or project data with any AI provider. Ever.
